Mugabe To Obama: ”Are You Born out of Homoséxuality?”

Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe railed against leader Obama throughout a latest campaign rally, contending that the U.S. leader liked to force Africa to “embrace homoséxuality.”
The African foremost often criticizes homoséxuality or other seen foes to gin up populist support, but the turn against Obama encompassed a new commentary.
“Then we have this American leader, Obama, born of an African father, who is saying we will not give you help if you don’t embrace homoséxuality,” Mugabe said.
“We inquire, was he born out of homosexuality? We need continuity in our rush, and that arrives from the woman, and no to homoséxuality. John and John, no. Maria and Maria, no.”
He then broke succinctly into Shona, a native Zimbabwean dialect, before completing, it’s not clear about who, “”f they don’t, we will slash their heads off.”
Mugabe furthermore reiterated his oft-repeated comparison between homoséxuals and pigs.
“They are poorer than canines and pigs, yes poorer than canines and pigs,” he said. “I hold pigs and the male pig knows the feminine one.”
components of the talk, encompassing some of the swipe at Obama, were individually described in the Zimbabwean outlet NewsDay.
Mugabe is opposite reelection on July 31. It’s the country’s first presidential vote since a violence-ridden 2008 election that was contacted with such worldwide outcry that Mugabe was compelled to accept a power-sharing placement with one of his competitors, though he has emerged to largely sustain power.
Mugabe has run Zimbabwe since 1980 and is now 89 years old but displays no signals of ceding power eagerly.
mind-set in the direction of homoséxuality are negative in much of sub-Saharan Africa, where homophobia is often utilised by populist leaders looking for an very simple enemy or a way to redirect from harder matters.
The Obama administration’s design to support gay privileges in Africa has at times been contacted with a backlash and a conviction among some that the United States desires to enforce homoséxuality on Africans.
Just for good assess, Mugabe furthermore admonished Britain, which he called, in an nearly word-for-word reproduction of long-held North Korean propaganda tropes, “a very freezing, uninhabitable homeland with little houses.

ASUU Strike Latest:Strike May End Next Thursday

The meeting between the Federal Government and the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, may have yielded results, as there are now indications the on-going strike might be called off next Thursday.
Governor of Benue State, Mr Gabriel Suswam who dropped this hint Friday said ASUU and the Federal Government had reached agreements on all the contentious issues that led to the industrial action except two.
Suswam who was appointed as Chairman of the Needs Assessment Implementation Committee of the Federal Government said after next Thursday’s deliberations between his Committee and the various agencies of government funding tertiary education, all the contentious issues would likely be resolved.
Suswam told journalists in Abuja after attending a meeting between the Federal Government’s delegation and ASUU that agreements had been reached by both parties on all issues save two.
“We reached agreements on all issues except two. These two issues are those of earned allowances of lecturers and intervention for the federal universities. These are the only issues that are still outstanding.”
The Benue Governor further said he believed that by next week after his Committee would have arrived at an agreement on all the issues, ASUU would call off the strike.
“The SGF would meet with the leadership of ASUU on the issue of earned allowances by next Monday.
“Then my committee which is dealing with the issue of the needs assessment of the universities would meet again next Thursday and take another look at all the infrastructural deficits which the federal universities are facing.
“If you go to our universities, you would agree that they are facing infrastructural deficits and that is why my committee would meet with all the funding agencies next Thursday for the purpose of prioritizing all the projects that need to be executed. We are going to invite all the agencies that are involved in the funding of the universities including the Central Bank of Nigeria.”
Suswam said agreement has been reached on retirement age for university lecturers, which has now been increased from 65 to 70 years; the constitution
of the governing councils of the universities which has already been done by the Government; the setting up of a pension administrator and the issue of persuading companies operating in the country to set up research centers in the universities.
“As far as I am concerned, if the issues concerning intervention and earned allowances are resolved next week, then the strike could be called off,” he said.
Present at the meeting were Secretary to the Government of the Federation
Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Minister of Labour, Hon. Emeka Wogu, Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayatu Rufai and President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr Nasir Fagge, among others.I pray o

ASUU Strike:ASUU Rejects Latest FG Deal

The strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may be prolonged as the union has rejected the offer made by the Federal Government to re-negotiate their 2009 agreement.
The Chairman of UNN-ASUU, Dr. Ifeanyi Abada, made this known during a press briefing after the congress attended by some national and zonal officers.
He explained that the offer was rejected by the union because the government did not sign the agreement under duress.
PM News reports:
Dr Ifeanyi Abada said UNN-ASUU and other chapters of the union nationwide were determined to withdraw their services until the federal government implemented the agreement.
“ASUU cannot be cajoled by any unbridled campaign or blackmail as being paddled by some federal government’s officials.
“The union is worried by the insincerity of government and condemns this perfidy in its entirety’’, he said.
Abada said ASUU was also demanding the removal of Prof. Julius Okogie, the NUC Secretary, for fanning the embers of hatred against members of the union.
“Okogie, who is supposed to mediate between ASUU and government, had regrettably morphed into another political valve through which universities were further demeaned and derailed.
“Okogie should be invited by government to account for over N100 billion Universities Stabilisation Fund.
“He has demonstrated that he has outlived his usefulness and bereft of innovative ideas and aptitude to turn universities around’’, he said.
He called on education stakeholders, the clergy and traditional rulers to prevail on government to respect the 2009 agreement it entered with ASUU to improve standards in tertiary institutions.
“We are not asking for government to fill our pockets with money, but that universities should be well funded.
“It is unfortunate that students in some universities take lectures in open spaces and in stadiums like in UNN.
“We are tired of producing half-baked graduates because of ill-equipped libraries, laboratories and lack of classrooms, while some politicians squander money meant to develop the country’’, he said.
Former UNN-ASUU chairman, Prof. Aloysius Okolie, decried government’s inability to allocate 26 per cent of its annual budget to education
He explained that that was the minimum percentage as recommended by UNESCO.
“This is an indication that government does not care about the quality of education in the country.
“Government should consider the future of Nigerian students and fulfill its own part of agreement it reached with ASUU.
“It is noteworthy that war torn Somalia and other smaller countries of the world who value education allocate above 26 per cent to education’’, he said.
Dr Chide Osuagwu, Zonal Coordinator, ASUU Nsukka Zone, comprising UNN, UNiZIK, ESUT, Anambra State University and Ebony State University, said ASUU had exercised enough patience since 2009.
“ASUU will not attend any re-negotiating meeting called by government. If government had known it cannot implement the agreement, why did it sign it?’’
About 200 lecturers attended the UNN-ASUU congress, which lasted for several hours.

Cesc Fabregas: Man Utd told Barcelona player not for sale

Francesc Fabregas
Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has told Manchester United that they will not sell midfielder Cesc Fabregas at any price.
United manager David Moyes revealed on Thursday that the deal was "ongoing" but the Spanish club insist no offer will be accepted for the 26-year-old.
Bartomeu said: "United's interest for Cesc Fabregas is obvious, he's a great player but it does not bother us.

Fabregas facts

  • He became Arsenal's youngest player aged 16 years and 177 days against Rotherham United in League Cup in October 2003.
  • Barcelona paid Arsenal £30m to sign him in August 2011.
  • He has winner's medals from the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008 and 2012.
  • He won his first league title when Barcelona took La Liga's top spot last season.
"It does not matter what they offer us, we are not selling him."
The Premier League champions have failed with two bids for the former Arsenal player, the latest of which is understood to be £30m plus add-ons.
Bartomeu was speaking at new manager Gerardo Martino's first news conference following his appointment as Tito Vilanova's replacement.
"I'm not going to involve myself in the club's accounts, but considering the club has already rejected two offers, I would guess it will reject a third," Martino said.
"In other words, Fabregas will remain here."
United made their first move for Fabregas on 15 July by tabling a £25m bid and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward then flew home from the club's Asia tour to try to secure his capture.
However, the Reds have now been told no matter how much they bid, the Spanish champions will not listen to offers.
"If there was a higher offer would we accept it? No. We're proud that a club like that wants one of our players," added Bartomeu.
Fabregas has played 96 times for Barcelona since joining from Arsenal in 2011, including 60 league games, but has rarely featured in his preferred midfield role, with Xavi, 33, and Andres Iniesta, 29, ahead of him in the pecking order.
