Louis Vuitton has had some majorly famous faces representing it in the past — Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Miss Piggy … But we have to say, as enthusiastic as we were about those partnerships, we’re even more excited about the news that Michelle Williams will be the new face of the brand that made her lovely Oscars look in 2012.

In the first ad image, shot by Peter Lindbergh, the actress poses with the Louis Vuitton “W” handbag while dressed in a lace slip and structured coat from Marc Jacobs’s fall/winter collection for the fashion house. Her “in-between” hair is arranged artfully by Sam McKnight and her dramatic makeup — a strong brow and dark wine lip — was done by Stéphane Marais.

“Michelle Williams was selected by Louis Vuitton for her independent
spirit with which she has forged her path through Hollywood,” the brand
said in a statement, “defined by her outstanding talent, her passion for
her craft, and her choice of daring and challenging roles.” The star’s first ads will be in September issues, with the next round, featuring the “Capucines” bag, arriving in October.
Tell us: What do you think of Williams’s ads for Louis Vuitton?
